Hey All. I have been slacking in the blog department. I’m horrible, I know. We’re just so swamped with all of these projects, sometimes I forget to fill you guys in. So, here is the scoop.
L.A......We came, we saw, we conquered. It was amazing. We played an industry showcase for some publishers and film/tv folks. Everyone was really receptive and I got to play Liberace’s piano. Yes, it looks just like it does in your imagination. Next, we played our public show at The Mint. I think half the room was full of Ferguson’s (my mom’s family). We should have titled the show...

Let's start with a nice little story:
A friend of Kevin Bowe's, Pete, and his wife are having their first baby. He sent me this message via facebook a couple weeks ago. Another example of why I do the things I do:
"Hi Alison! Never met you but my wife and I love your music. I'm friends with Kevin Bowe (what a great guy). You've done a few auto ads (singing parts) for me actually :) I'm an advertising exec.. I had to share with u a beautiful moment I had recently that was enhanced by your music...
My wife and I are having our first baby and recently had the first ultrasound. What an incredible...
So, Wednesday night we had another out of town gig. We were heading north to St. Cloud, full band. We loaded up the suburban and hit the road. We’ve been playing out of town quite a bit now. You have to start over in every town. The first time in you could very well only have 20 people in the audience, and trust me, you’re happy to have anyone at all. I felt a mild headache coming on throughout the drive up there, but when we arrived the club informed us we had 3x as many tickets sold as our previous show in St. Cloud. Great news! So, I try to ignore the headache and prepare...
So, as much as I believe music is the international language of all people, it never occurred to me that I might be a part of something like this. I have always hoped that people would be touched by my music, that it would help people through tough times, etc. However, I never imagined my music could be the reason two people found each other. Yet here I sit, and this story is true.
I received and email from some fans of mine, Jamie and Tim, yesterday. They met on March 13, 2009 at one of my shows in Excelsior. Jamie said “This launched what has been the foundation for many magical...

Review from The Northern Iowan, by A. J. Cassidy
Alison Scott's new album, "Chinese Whispers" is hard to describe. The album vacillates between blues, jazz and R&B. For Scott, the musical style is best described with one word — soul. After her live performance at the Hub on Nov. 12, it is hard to find a more apt descriptor.
Alison Scott and her guitarist, Kevin Bowe, came to Cedar Falls for the first time to partake in the Seeds of Hope fundraiser. The cold and rainy weather provided an appropriate background for the band's warming music.
The 13-song set list consisted of eight...

“Chinese Whispers”
Who are my top five favorite bands on the Minneapolis music scene? Well, I could only give you one name, because I don't listen to any of it. However, one soulful singer has grabbed my attention. Her name is Alison Scott, and she is defintely going places that are far away from the Minnesota state border. I hope you're ready.
I will never forget the first time I heard her voice. We were in a studio for class, and our teacher was Kevin Bowe, Alison's producer. It was the day where we learned about working on vocals in the studio, and he had her come work...

I have had days in the past where it feels like we're pushing a boulder up a very very large hill. A mountain maybe. Sometimes you have to work insanely hard and you keep thinking that around every turn it will get easier. Something will happen to lighten the load. I've been faked out a few times before. However, I actually think it's happening now. Just when I finally stopped waiting for it because it seemed like it might not ever come, that's when it happens. Doesn't it always work out that way?
Not that we don't have more work to do. There is always more. Yet, our phones...

It's finally here. It seems like we've been so close for so long. Now, we actually are. We have 10 songs from the new record that are totally mixed and ready to go. The last three are in the final stages of production and then we are DONE. I have to say, every time we tie another one of the loose ends, I get more excited. This album is so far beyond what I had hoped for, I can't wait to get it into your hands.
We've put together an insanely cool CD Release Party at The Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, MN. The date: September 11th. Now, you can't forget it. We're teaming up with...

Hey All-
So, when a girl finds a great store, she should share the news. None of this keeping all my shopping secrets to myself. That's LAME! I wanted to tell you guys about this new store I came across. It's called Willows Home Accents, and it's located in Medina. Definitely worth the drive for you city folk. Don't be confused by the name, they are a home goods boutique, but half of the store is stocked with REALLY great clothes. I recently bought a whole new wardrobe of stage clothes there! This coming from a girl who is not a big shopper. However, everything I found there,...
