Let's start with a nice little story:
A friend of Kevin Bowe's, Pete, and his wife are having their first baby. He sent me this message via facebook a couple weeks ago. Another example of why I do the things I do:
"Hi Alison! Never met you but my wife and I love your music. I'm friends with Kevin Bowe (what a great guy). You've done a few auto ads (singing parts) for me actually :) I'm an advertising exec.. I had to share with u a beautiful moment I had recently that was enhanced by your music...
My wife and I are having our first baby and recently had the first ultrasound. What an incredible...
So, as much as I believe music is the international language of all people, it never occurred to me that I might be a part of something like this. I have always hoped that people would be touched by my music, that it would help people through tough times, etc. However, I never imagined my music could be the reason two people found each other. Yet here I sit, and this story is true.
I received and email from some fans of mine, Jamie and Tim, yesterday. They met on March 13, 2009 at one of my shows in Excelsior. Jamie said “This launched what has been the foundation for many magical...

Alison Scott
“Chinese Whispers”
Who are my top five favorite bands on the Minneapolis music scene? Well, I could only give you one name, because I don't listen to any of it. However, one soulful singer has grabbed my attention. Her name is Alison Scott, and she is defintely going places that are far away from the Minnesota state border. I hope you're ready.
I will never forget the first time I heard her voice. We were in a studio for class, and our teacher was Kevin Bowe, Alison's producer. It was the day where we learned about working on vocals in the studio, and he had her come work...

I have had days in the past where it feels like we're pushing a boulder up a very very large hill. A mountain maybe. Sometimes you have to work insanely hard and you keep thinking that around every turn it will get easier. Something will happen to lighten the load. I've been faked out a few times before. However, I actually think it's happening now. Just when I finally stopped waiting for it because it seemed like it might not ever come, that's when it happens. Doesn't it always work out that way?
Not that we don't have more work to do. There is always more. Yet, our phones...

It all started a few weeks back when my, drummer, Peter Anderson sent me a link to win a chance to open for Jon Bon Jovi and said "go for it!" So, I did!
Then, last Monday afternoon I was informed that we had made it to the top 8 finalists in the “Big Break Contest” on KQRS, a local radio station. We’re talking a classic rock station, so frankly, I was shocked to have even been considered. The prize was to open on either April 7th or 8th for Bon Jovi at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN. Chance of a lifetime! So I got busy, begging and posting like a fiend “Vote for me, please!...

Music Lovers,
Hello, Hello. I just got back from a week on the North Shore. I think it just may be my favorite place on earth. In between the R & R, we played a few crazy shows up there. Let me start off by saying that the people of Duluth sure do love their music! Blues in particular. Actually, it seemed that half the people there were Minneapolis natives who make the annual trip up to share in the Bayfront Blues Festivities. You know, you think they are tame when they are down here in the cities. However, after a weekend of beer, junk food, and guitar solos, they go crazy!...
