So, as much as I believe music is the international language of all people, it never occurred to me that I might be a part of something like this. I have always hoped that people would be touched by my music, that it would help people through tough times, etc. However, I never imagined my music could be the reason two people found each other. Yet here I sit, and this story is true.
I received and email from some fans of mine, Jamie and Tim, yesterday. They met on March 13, 2009 at one of my shows in Excelsior. Jamie said “This launched what has been the foundation for many magical evenings with your music – from dancing in the kitchen together to seeing you open for Marc Cohn and Bon Jovi, multiple evenings at 318, front and center at Chinese Whistpers, etc..” True fans, these two. I remember them coming up to me at The Dakota one evening and told me that they had named their new pooch “Alison Moon, Princess Ali for short.” I was dumbfounded. It was the first time I really realized how much people are affected by my music and that it really does matter.
As of this past weekend, these two crazy love birds are now Mr. and Mrs. to be! I have been invited to participate in the festivities next summer. I couldn’t be happier to be involved. I wish you guys a wonderful life together. I’ll keep writing the songs as long as you guys keep up that booty shaking in your kitchen! Congrats and thanks for taking me on the ride with you.
xoxo

Update… We, Tim and Jamie, are now married and graduated from “to be” to officially Mr. and Mrs. Walker, as of Friday, May 13, 2011. Alison, your singing during our ceremony was perfect, and a reinforcement of how significant your music is to us. It brought us together, has been there every step of the way on our journey, and you are forever part of “our story.”
Thank you,
Tim and Jamie xoxo
No shows booked at the moment.
Hey Ali, This is such a cool story! We never know how our music, or art, or just the words we say might affect another person as we walk through our lives . But you don’t walk, you ROCK through yours, and look how two people have met, and their bond has evolved … because of you, your spirit, and your music! I love a happy ending, but this is a happy beginning, too. Better go write a song about it, girl, you never know who is on your karmic platter to affect next!
